Who We Are

Friends of Strays is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization funded by donations and fundraising. We are a no-kill shelter. The only time an animal is euthanized is if it is suffering and cannot be helped. We are one of the very few shelters that house Leukemia and FIV cats. They have their own rooms in the shelter. Our shelter is primarily cageless. Most of the cats have about 2000 sq feet of space to live in. We operate a program called SAFE (Safe Animal Fostering Environment) in cooperation with the local Women's Shelter. FOS will foster animals from domestic violence situations for a period of time, free of charge for victims of domestic violence.
