Shannons Companions Equine and Collie Rescue

Our Adoptable Pet List

News

We would like to bring to everyone's attention that we have a high priority need. On July 13th the people who live across from the rescue purposefully launched professional fireworks into Nora, the blind mare's pasture and barn. She became terrified and ran through her fencing several times. She is covered in cuts, abrasions and bruises. Her special fenced in area was destroyed. We are now in dire need of funding and materials to build Nora a new safe enclosure and help with the vet bills. For the full story please go to our website from the link below. Thank You.

If you are interested in adopting a Collie or horse please follow the link to our website for detailed information.

We will be happy to assist animal shelters who have a Collie in need. If you need assistance please feel free to contact us.

We are in need of donations to help build our shelter! We also need donations towards our vet bill, feed bill and boarding costs. Any monetary donations, aluminum cans, items we can use to raise funds, etc.. is very much appreciated. You can make donations by simply by using the Paypal button below.

Adopting a friend

We have an adoption application for you to fill out for us to review. Upon approval we will contact you to set up an adoption appointment. Our adoptable Collies/dogs are either boarded or are still in their current home so adoptions are always by appointment only. Adoptable horses reside with us on the farm until adoption. All adoptable Collies/dogs are dewormed, immunized and have a vet check up. Adoptable horses receive dewormings, immunizations, hoof trimmings, dentals and vet care when needed. The adoption donation required is not a fee or sale price for the dog or horse but is a donation towards our rescue fund, which is used to pay for vet bills, food bills, boarding costs, etc... We currently do not receive any funding and rely solely on donations. For the most part we are operating out of pocket.

I would like to introduce a new program we have started here at Halfway Home/Shannon’s Companions. It is a Sponsor a Horse Program. What that entails is that for a donation fee of $100.00 you will be sponsoring the horse of your choice for one month. The money will be used to take care of the horse of your choice. What you get in return besides the knowledge that you are helping save the life of a horse is: A picture of your sponsored horse, a certificate of sponsor ship, a thank you letter from the horse. If you are from the local area you and your immediate family will be able to spend time with your sponsored horse, and if the horse is ride-able you and your immediate family will be able to ride it during normal stable hours, with supervision. The sponsorship is a month to month opportunity, if you wish to renew you sponsorship, you may do so at least seven days before due. The sponsorship is from the first of the month till the last day of the month. One sponsor per horse. If you choose a horse that is already sponsored you may either sponsor another horse or wait until they become available for sponsorship. This is not a lease, there is no contract. We retain complete ownership and control of the horse. Horses that are in the sponsorship program are still on the adoption list,.and may be adopted.
