Who We Are
Our goal at the JCHS is to find homes for as many of the cats and dogs that come through our doors as we possibly can, and to promote the humane treatment of all animals.
Adopting a friend
The adoption fees at the JCHS are as follows:
$70.00 for dogs & puppies and $55.00 for cats & kittens. These fees include spay / neuter, the 1st distemper shot, the 1st rabies shot & a deworming.
Most vets in Jackson county and some vets in the surrounding counties will work with us so you can choose from a variety of great veterinary facilities.
Come Visit Us!
The JCHS is located out side of Maquoketa, which is about half way between Davenport and Dubuque on Hwy 61. We are about 1 mile North East of Maquoketa on the corner of Hwy 62 & Dark Hollow Rd, just across the Maquoketa River. We have a large sign in our front yard that is visible from the Hwy.
You can visit us during these ours:
T / W / T: Noon to 6pm
F / S / S : Noon to 4pm
We are closed on Mondays.
