Who We Are
All of our animals are brought to us by local law enforcement agencies and the animal control unit of Mason City. We can only accept animals this way. Please do not "drop" off animals at our shelter without personnel being there. We also accept only dogs from Cerro Gordo County. The animal must be confined and you must contact the CG sheriff's office in order to turn in the dog. Adopting a friend
Animal adoption fees are $95 for cats, and $105 for dogs. This fee includes the spay/neuter of the animal, microchip and registration, and all vaccines that are allowed by age of the animal, including rabies and distemper (1st shot). Cats are tested for feline leukemia, and dogs are tested for heartworms. Adopting parties are responsible for ensuring the animals have their boosters for distemper and rabies when needed. All animals are wormed prior to adoption as well. All animals are REQUIRED BY IOWA LAW to be spayed/neutered and vaccinated prior to adoption.

You MUST call or visit the shelter directly with any questions regarding the animals listed. I do not work at the shelter, and you will have to call them to find out the current availability of an animal. Shelter hours: Tue-Fri 3-5 PM, Sat 11AM to 3 PM, Closed Sun/Mon and Holidays (other hours by appointment only)
