Who We Are

Animal Welfare Services is a local group dedicated to networking all the Pet Professionals in the area together. We hope to network vets, pet store owners, rescue volunteers, shelter workers, boarding kennel owners and pet sitters, groomers and more.
We are 501c3 non-profit as of April 14, 2008 and hope to have a local shelter facility in 2009. I am the Internet Coordinator for Animal Welfare Services. We *do not yet* have a physical shelter facility. Our volunteers are individuals who take animals into their own homes as they are able. Many times the animal stays in it's current home until a new home is found.

Our Volunteers

Priscilla is the Reptile, Amphibian & Turtle/Tortoise Retreat. I have taken dogs, kittens and young cats, rabbits and guinea pigs for placement in the past but at this time will take only Reptiles, Amphibians and non-aquatic Turtles and Tortoises. (Although I may be willing to take a dog, bun or pig, my whole family loves them!) I am also a Private Dog Obedience Instructor. I assist you, in your home, to solve problems you may have with your dog, or just help in teaching manners and basic obedience. I hope to start holding group classes by Fall 2008. I can be reached at 319-269-3722 (leave a message or send text) or Email: priscilla_blanchard@hotmail.com

Peg takes on Dogs of all shapes and sizes, all are spayed or neutered prior to placement. She can be reached at 319-833-0959 or Email: schneggy@hotmail.com

Adopting a friend

Interested in adopting a new best friend??
Each animal has it's own story and it's own adoption donation. Our volunteers have their own individual applications.
Please read the animal's bio carefully to see how to contact the Volunteer for that animal.
