Our Pet List

Who We Are

Founded in 1987, the Humane Society's Mountain Shelter is a private, non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to preventing the cruelty, suffering and inhumane treatment of animals. We provide custodial care to animals within our facility and promote animal placement through our adoption program. We support both Towns and Union Counties and are conveniently located in Blairsville. Learn more about us.

Pets of the Month

See our list of Cats and Dogs available for adoption. This list is constantly updated.

Adopting a friend

The adoption process begins with each potential adopter filling out an adoption application. The application asks questions which will provide information on the type of pet he or she is looking for. The Shelter staff can then assist the new owner with the selection of a pet. The adoption fee for dogs/puppies and for cats/kittens start at $50.00 which covers spay/neuter, first set of vaccinations, and deworming costs. Feline leukemia testing, heartworm testing and rabies vaccination are an extra $10.00 each.
