Elbert County Animal Control is a county facility
covering Elbert County Georgia. We try to place as many animals as possible with limited time and funding. YOU
can help save a life. Please act today. Help control the animal overpopulation and the resulting homeless or unwanted animals by spaying or neutering your pets!
Adopting a friend
Adopting a pet from the Animal Control Facility is simple. A small adoption donation of $20 is asked to help with the many costs of caring for the impounded animals. Currently the ECAC facility does not offer any vetting services, but does have a mobile spay/neuter clinic that comes two to three times a month and offers discount spay and neuters along with heartworm testing, rabies vaccination, and other vaccinations. Proof of spay/neuter must be provided within 30 days of adoption.
If you are out of state and interested in adopting an animal a certificate of prepayment for spay/neuter is required and proof will be required within 30 days. Call the shelter to confirm animal availability and their willingness to accept this based on your geographic location.
Currently, the shelter is in need of donations in order to purchase crates to assist in the transport of animals to reputable rescues. If you can assist with any monetary amount, please call the shelter at (706)283 5054 and speak with the animal control officer, Jeff Simpson. Any amount is appreciated and will assist towards the purchase of various sized crates to be used to transport animals to meet rescues.
The shelter is also trying to increase their capacity, and allow even more potential adoption time for the animals, by installing large outdoor runs under the back covered area. Donations are being taken to assist in the purchase of these runs.
