Who We Are
Golden Retriever Rescue of Atlanta is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to saving Golden and Labrador Retrievers that have been left in animal shelters.
On a space available basis, we provide placement service for dog owners that must give up their retrievers.
Golden Retriever Rescue of Atlanta requires all adoption-eligible retrievers to be:
Examined by a veterinarian
Inoculated (including rabies)
Spayed / Neutered
Golden Retriever Rescue of Atlanta does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national or ethnic origin, age, disability, or sexual orientation.
Started in 1991, Golden Retriever Rescue of Atlanta is registered with the State of Georgia and is licensed by the State Agriculture Department as an animal rescue group. Additionally, the Internal Revenue Service has granted Golden Retriever Rescue of Atlanta a federal income tax exemption under section 501(c)(3).
Adopting a friend
The first step toward working with GRRA to give a rescued retriever a new home is to complete an application with us. The application form can be found on our web site at
http://grra.com/Application.html on the Adopt a Dog page.
Once GRRA receives your active application, we will assign an adoption consultant who will work with you to make a match with one of the rescued retrievers.
Due to the volume of requests we receive through email, we find that this is the best approach to insure that our volunteers are focused on finding good homes for the retrievers.
GRRA continually rescues and adopts retrievers throughout the month. We look forward to working with you or to meeting you at one of our Adoption Showcase Days.

All of our retrievers live in foster homes until placement.
Golden Retriever Rescue of Atlanta needs you to open your hearts and homes to Rescued Retrievers. Become a Foster Home for a retriever who might otherwise not survive.The first step toward volunteering with GRRA to give a rescued retriever a new home is to complete an Volunteer-Membership application with us.
