LAP Special Friends

Our Adoptable Pet List

special friends with special needs
Lifeline Animal Project

LAP Special Friends is dedicated to animals with special needs. The animals listed here may have physical defects, such as missing an eye or leg, or physical disabilities such as blindness, deafness or being paralyzed and need the use of a cart, they may just be older and need a good home to live out their years or they may be emotionally scarred, such as those that come from puppymills or those that have been abused and need extra patience and understanding. Lifeline believes all animals have value and preservation of life is our goal.

Pet Angels

Pet Angels are people like you that open their hearts to one of these Special Friends. They see past the imperfections and see beauty where others see flaws. Pet Angels are special people because they are willing to love for what the pet has to offer, which is love and devotion in return. The Special Friends listed here are safe and out of the shelter. They are in foster homes, but they are just one of many animals that the foster home is caring for. These Special Friends need a home to call their own. They need the individual attention that only a forever home can provide. They need someone to look past their defects. They need a Pet Angel. They need you.

Our Featured Pet...Abby

Abby is a one year old husky mix. She weighs about 45 lbs and is full grown. Abby is a very sweet and loving girl. She gets along with other dogs and cats. She does fabulously with kids as well. Unfortunately, Abby suffers from a serious problem with her ureters. Her plumbing is not working right due to a past injury or a birth defect. She was found with a soaking wet rear end with flies all over her poor little body. Now Abby is an inside dog, but is forced to wear diapers all the time. As cute as she looks in her diapers, Abby needs to have a very expensive surgery to help her become a normal girl again. She would love to come in the house and not have her foster mom track her down with the baby wipes and the diaper!!

Abby's operation will cost $3000 because its a complicated surgery required to be done by a specialist. We really need your help. Please send your tax deductible donations to LAP PO Box 15466 Atlanta, GA30333 or you can go to our website at www.Atlantapets.org and make a donation through Paypal if you prefer. Every little bit will help Abby and 100% will go toward her medical needs. Please designate your donation for Abby.

Please send your tax deductible donations to LAP PO Box 15466 Atlanta, GA 30333. Please contact me if you would like to adopt this sweet dog.

Who We Are

Lifeline Animal Project (LAP) is an all volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the welfare of animals. LAP provides free support services to the rescue and shelter community in Georgia and is supported entirely by private donations. LAP provides a website for the posting of animals that are homeless, web hosting for rescue groups and shelters, financial assistance for extraordinary expenses such as surgeries for injured animals, support for low cost spay/neuter programs, education for trap, neuter, release (TNR) programs for feral colonies and a low cost boarding facility available to the rescue community.

Our mission is to serve as a lifeline for all pets, in recognition that our pets are a lifeline for all humanity. Our work is only beginning. For more information, please contact info@LifelineAnimalProject.org

Give Life Support

Donations are greatly appreciated and always needed. Some of LAP's Special Friends may be waiting for surgery, need expensive daily medication or a cart for mobility. Please select a Special Friend that you would like to help, and designate your donation for that particular animal. 100% goes directly to the health and welfare of the animals. LAP can't offer their services to the rescue and shelter community without public support, so please Give Life Support! Send your tax-deductible donations to:

Lifeline Animal Project
P.O. Box 15466
Atlanta, GA 30333

Can't give a donation? You can still help. Its the LAP volunteers that make everything possible. We need volunteers to help with the LAP Dog House, to take animals to and from their Vet appointments, to help with adoption or fundraising events, to pull animals from the shelters, and most important to foster animals. An animal can't come out of the shelters until it has a foster home. The more foster homes there are the more animals that can be saved from being killed.

No money, no time, no spare room for a homeless animal, you can still help. You can collect towels, blankets, pet beds, crates, collars, leashes, food dishes, litter boxes and pet toys from your family, neighbors or coworkers. If an animal can use it, then we need it.

The Adoption Process

Adoptions require an adoption application to be filled out, a pet history and Vet reference are required for the LAP Special Friend animals. Once the application is approved, the applicant is interviewed and a home visit will be done. After the home visit, the adoption will be considered and if the home and the pet are a good match, then the adoption is approved. Approvals are based on best home policy.

An online application can be found on our website at www.Atlantapets.org. Adoption fees will vary. The adoption fee is to help defray the medical expenses incurred. LAP Special Friends generally have higher medical expenses, therefore the adoption fee may be higher to cover the additional costs. All animals will be spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative upon adoption.
