Freddie is a Nile monitor and is approximately 4 feet long and can grow to up to 6 feet. This monitor is not tame and has the potential to inflict serious injury. Freddie will only be adopted to a person with experience handling this type of reptile.
Nile monitors have been labeled as "Reptiles of Concern" in Florida, and effective January 1, 2008 are subject to new state regulations. Owners will require a permit . Plus Freddie was microchipped by our vet, and the chip must be transferred to the name of the new owner. Read all the regulations at MyFWC.com under "Reptiles of Concern.
We want to thank the USA River Rats for hosting the fundraiser for Fallin' Pines on June 8th. We appreciate everyone who came out for the good food, music and and to help support the animals. The USA River Rats are also planning a work day at the rescue to complete some much-needed maintenance and repair work. Fallin' Pines could not continue to help so many animals in need without the continued support of it's generous volunteers!
We currently have a large number of animal cages, dog crates, aquariums and accessories available. These cages would be a wonderful home for your newly adopted pet or just to improve the accommodations of your current pet. Donations are accepted for these cages.
