Our Featured Pet...

Every pet we have up for adoption is our featured pet this month! We have an abundance of dogs and puppies, and continue to get more each day from a shelter on the east coast. These dogs are pulled out of the shelter on the day prior to being euthanized. Please help us save and life and consider adopting today!

News

We are excited to be assisting with the adoptions of the Lee County Cell Dogs! Imagine adopting a new pet that knows how to heel, sit, recall, stay, is responsive to voice commands, is leash trained and housebroken!! What more could you ask for? The Cell Dog Program is a collaborative effort between the Lee County Sheriff's Department and Companion Dog Training Center. The program places homeless shelter dogs once they have been obedience trained by carefully selected inmates, and volunteers from Companion Dog Training Center. Each dog is put through an intensive 8 to 16 week course and has one primary inmate trainer and at least one secondary inmate trainer. In addition to the training they will have already received, when adopted, each Cell Dog comes with a voucher for Beginner Obedience training at Companion Dog Training Center. This is an 8-week course which normally costs $150. For more information on the program, please visit the official website at: www.leecountycelldogs.com

Who We Are

Little Red Dog Rescue was started in memory of our late little red dachshund, Skippy. Our mission is to assist with the placement of loving companion animals, who were previously placed in high-kill facilities. Our job is to provide any needed medical treatment, including vaccinations, and spay or neuter. Once the dog is ready for adoption, our goal is to find him or her a loving home. Will you please help us in our efforts by adopting a new friend?

Adopting a friend

At Little Red Dog Rescue, our goal is to match each pet perfectly with an owner. For this reason, we carefully screen each applicant. An adoption application is required, as well as a reference from your veterinarian. Once approved, a rescue contract that outlines your responsibilities as the owner of a rescued pet, is required. Each adopter will pay an adoption donation which may vary per dog. The donation covers veterinary costs associated with vaccinations, etc. Potential adopters must be over 21 years of age and have the financial means to provide medical treatment and proper care. All pets currently in the home, if any, must be currently spayed or neutered. We do not allow our pets to be given as gifts. OUR ADOPTION APPLICATION MAY BE FOUND AT: www.companiondogtrainingcenter.com Please click on the icon for the Lee County Cell Dogs and follow the instructions to download the application.
