Who We Are
Dalmatian Rescue of Tampa Bay will save as many Dalmatians as possible from area shelters (from Citrus County to Sarasota) that are scheduled to be euthanized due to lack of room or health issues or pull those that are in dismay due to being in a shelter environment.
We assist area shelters in placing Dalmatians through ongoing advertisements in local newspapers. Prospective owners are thoroughly screened with home and veterinary reference checks. We house 20 Dalmatians at our care-for-life sanctuary who are unable to be placed due to age and/or medical conditions. We provide ongoing support and education to all adopters. All Dalmatians placed are spayed or neutered and given all medical treatment needed at time of placement.
In 2005, Dalmatian Rescue of Tampa Bay successfully rehabilitated and placed in loving, forever homes, 52 abandoned dogs. We are on track for placing just as many this year, dogs like Smokey, pictured above, but we need your help.
Funds are now desparately needed to continue our rescue efforts and hopefully even exceed the amount of dogs helped.
Adopting one of these beautiful animals is the best way to help us obtain our goal. But there are other ways to offer your support. Smokey was adopted July 19th, 2003. If you click on his picture, you can read his story. While adoption is the main way you can help, there are many other caring ways to get involved.
Because we work primarily with "high-kill" shelters, when the call comes in to save a dog, we only have 24 hours to get the dog to a safe place. For this reason, it is imperative that we recruit as many foster homes as possible. If you can offer your home for a temporary safe haven for one of these beautiful animals so that we have time to find a home, please let us know if we can add you to the emergency list.

Come Visit Us!
Because Dalmatian Rescue of Tampa Bay is very small, we do not have staff available to allow public viewing of Dals. Successful applicants will be invited to meet their prospective Dal(s) at the sanctuary at a time convenient to all.
