Who We Are
AARF of Florida is a program of APPALACHIAN ANIMAL RESCUE FRIENDS (formerly the Southern West Virginia Humane Society, Inc). Most of our animals are rescued from the mountains of Appalachia. There are NO ANIMAL SHELTERS in this area. Good homes are few and far between, and there is an enormous homeless pet problem.
Bringing a few of our rescued dogs to Florida is their
LAST chance to find a home!!
We intervene in cruelty and neglect cases. Our goal is to help as many animals as possible find permanent, loving homes. We nurse them back to health, spay/neuter, overcome shyness and socialization problems, then search for their forever home. Send us an email. Our adoption fee is normally $100 -- this reimburses our veterinary costs, and the money goes directly towards helping the next animal.
