Our feature pet is not just one pet it's any black or black and white dog or catt. We have so many wonderful sleek black beauties and tuxedos it's hard to pick just one. We have some of the most affectionate and unique personalities in any shelter around.
News
We had a great turn out for our first Howl-O-dream open house, right after our 2008 Newsletter went out to all members. Everyone had a terrific time and we thank all of our sponsors who donated their time, coupons and free food for the event.
Also, a big thanks to Tania's Travel in helping us with a wonderful Carnival Fundraising Cruise, 5 day, 4 night to Cozumel from September 17-21, 2009. Prices are $349.60 PP inside or $399.60 PP oceanview. Deposits are only $25. Carnival will match up to $40.00 per cabin sold, for a total of $90. going to the SPCA FROM EACH CABIN!!! WE ARE CURRENTLY RUNNING A CAMPAIGN - HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS - AND WOULD LOVE TO SEE EACH AND EVERYONE OF OUR RESIDENTS FIND THEIR NEW FOREVER HOMES AND GET THE TURKEY DINNERS THEY DESERVE - PLEASE FIND IT IN YOUR HEART TO MAKE ONE (OR MORE) OF THESE PETS A WONDERFUL ADDITION TO YOUR HOUSEHOLD!
We also have set up a 2ND CHANCE FUND THROUGH BB&T BANK. We currently have a 6 week old Black Lab puppy who doctors say suffered blunt force trauma with a hammer to his head. He is blind in one eye and has neurological problems which require special treatment. This may all get better once he is a little older - he's growing by leaps and bounds. Once and a while we get these types of cases that require more money that we have, so if you are in the giving holiday spirit, won't you please donate to this special fund, so adoptable pets can get the special care they need, instead of just being disgarding as defective? We are so very grateful for her diligent efforts to see that Chance is given all the medical opportunities to address his issues - Thank you Angel Tracie #2. Who We Are
We are a non-profit, no-kill, volunteer, limited intake shelter for the unwanted, homeless and disposed of animals of our community.
Every SPCA member, Board Member, and volunteer has extreme compassion for every animal we take into our care.
The animals here are in need of forever families. They also need people from our community to come and volunteer at the shelter. A little compassion goes a long way when it comes to helping an animal in need!
Adopting a friend
Our adoption fee's are as follows:
***DOGS & PUPPIES***
Dogs over 18 mo. are $100.00+
Designer or speciality dogs may start at $175.00 +
Puppies: (3 months to 18 mo) are $125.00+
If the pets are not old enough to be spayed or neutered an addtional cost of $100.00 is added onto the adoption, but then refunded to you, after the spay/neutered is completed.
The adoption fee for our dogs and puppies include:
up-to-date shots, spay/neuter, deworming, flea prevention, bordatella, vet checks, a bag of puppy/dog food, training tape and an i.d. tag.
***CATS & KITTENS***
Cats over 5yrs. are $40+
Cats 1 yr to 5yrs. are $50+
Speciality cats/kittens are $100.00+
Kittens: (3 months to 13 mo.) are $65+ $100 refundable spay/neuter deposit. (if not done by the time they leave shelter)
The adoption fee for our cats & kittens include:
FIV/Felv tested, up-to-date vaccines, spay/neuter, flea prevention, vet checked, bag of kitten/cat food and training tape.
