Come and meet Rose
An eight year young tortoiseshell named Rose
is waiting for her beloved new owner to come and adopt her. She is at Two
Smiling Dogs now! She will be staying there until
her guardian angel new owner (this means you) comes to adopt
her. Rose came in to the shelter as a lost and homeless girl. It was
suspected that she might have been hit by a car. Rose was at the
shelter for four months and now she has been taken to Two Smiling Dogs
to find her forever home. Let me tell you about her. Rose, that
is.....she lives to be loved . She does not care about anything else
but having you pet her and give her lots of lovin'. She is curious, not
shy! Loves attention. She has a mellow personality. What a sweetie.
She's waited 4 months! Yes, 4 months, and now she wants to go home!
What are you waiting for? Go down to 1869 Dixwell Avenue right now and
meet Rose. The phone number at Two Smiling Dogs is 248-7297. If you are
in search of a kind-hearted, cuddly, loving cat---look no further.
You've found her.
Two
Smiling Dogs is a gourmet bakery and treat shop with
unique gifts for pets and their human companions located in the Home Depot shopping plaza
in Hamden. Rose's adoption fee is $80.00. Proof of home
ownership or permission
from landlord is required for adoption. An application must be
completed by you and approved by the New Haven Animal Shelter.

Two-year-old China lived in a backyard with her
siblings. She was kept in a kennel and the only exercise she had was
being moved from the kennel to a tie out on a tree. Her "owners" had
plans to use her to breed but thankfully we were able to rescue her and
her siblings from the life they were living for her two years here. She
has a very high prey drive and must be trained to calm down. She is a
very strong girl of medium build but tires easily due to the fact that
she was never allowed to run play or go for walks. She needs a very
experienced owner that will not let her dominate. She should not live
with children and should always be kept on leash when walked. She will
chase anything that runs including adults.

Two-year-old Julianne lived in a house with 30
other cats. She was taken from a hoarder of cats. They all lived in one
bedroom and had each other for company and would only see their human
owner for feedings, litter box changes and minimal individual time for
petting. We have found that the cats NEED a kitty companion or they get
very depressed. If you don't already have a cat and are interested in
adopting do you have room for two? The fee for two kitties is $130.

Two-and-a-half-year-old Diamond is one handsome
dog. He and his siblings were rescued from living in a dilapidated
garage stuck inside kennels. The only exercise he received was being
moved from his kennel to a tie out on a tree. He is a strong dog. He is
learning how to be a "free" dog and loves going for walks and being
loved. He loves people and gets along well with some other dogs. He
should live with an adult family He's beautiful and will be a loyal pet
for the right family.
