New England Border Collie Rescue (NEBCR)

Our Pet List

Who We Are

We are a group of Border Collie Rescue volunteers who work together in the New England states of Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont, and in Eastern New York State and Northern New Jersey, to find homes for stray, abandoned or unwanted Border Collies. We have no shelter. Dogs are fostered in private homes.

Adopting a rescued Border Collie

Please note that you MUST FIRST fill out an adoption application AND have a home visit BEFORE being considered for any NEBCR dog. Our rescue representatives cannot consider you to adopt ANY dog until your application has been submitted and approved. All information on our adoption process, including a link to our application, can be found on our website www.NEBCR.org. Adopting a dog from us is a process that takes time. You must have patience.

IMPORTANT:
You should always choose a breed/dog that matches your CURRENT lifestyle. Border Collies are not for everyone, and contrary to popular misconception, most are NOT typically “great family pets” and “wonderful with children.” (If that were true, there would not be nearly as many in rescue!)

BEFORE inquiring about adopting a dog from us, we recommend you do a little research to find out if a Border Collie really is right for your family. For this information, and details on our adoption process, please see our web site www.NEBCR.org.

Our goal is to find the best possible match for each dog so that they never have to come into rescue again.
