Welcome To The Critter ConnectionThe Critter Connection, Inc., based in Connecticut, specializes in the rescue, rehabilitation, and placement of guinea pigs. We also assist other individuals or groups who need to find homes for their pets due to unforeseen circumstances by listing their pets on our Petfinder Web site. Many of the guinea pigs on our Adoptables list are housed at The Critter Connection or one of its foster homes. Our rescue depends on donations from caring people like you! For more information about us, please visit our Web site. You also can find us monthly in Pets Press, a newspaper published for Connecticut pet owners, in their "ask the experts" section. To find out where you can pick up a free copy of the paper, visit the Pets Press Web site. Our Featured Pets
The rescue has worked on several large cruelty cases and hoarder situations over the past 4 years. As a result of this, some of the guinea pigs that lived in horrible conditions are not easily adoptable due to health reasons. Their quality of life is very good, but they have medical issues that make them less than desirable to many potential adopters. Because we are a no-kill rescue, we keep these guinea pigs with us and give them the best food and medical care available. As we have surpassed the milestone of 600 guinea pigs rescued, we are running out of room in the rescue. With 20 permanent residents, including seniors and special needs pigs, our financial resources are being drained. Donations of any type will be very helpful and greatly appreciated. If you are interested in adopting guinea pigs and don't see what you are looking for on our adoptable list please contact us. We maintain a list of guinea pigs that are in need of a new home. These pigs are still with their families while they are waiting for room to open up in the rescue. To find a list of lovable, adoptable critters at Connecticut's original guinea pig rescue, go to: We invite you to visit Happy Tails to see our many successful placements. |
