Our Pet List

Our Featured Pet...

Hope was rescued barely in time to save her life. She is one of the nicest cats we've ever met. She loves laps and is patient and gentle, even with kids. She will tolerate other cats but is more people-oriented than in need of kitty companionship. She is seeking a forever home with a family that can give her all their love and lots of cuddling.

News

Rescue organizations continue to be overflowing with homeless animals - the end result of people's failure to spay and neuter their pets. There is no government support for what we do - just a small network of dedicated animal lovers donating their time to make a positive difference in the animals' lives and struggling daily to scrape up the money to do it.

Who We Are

We are a small, all-volunteer organization dedicated to promoting feline health and well-being primarily through population control and vaccination of cats who would otherwise not receive veterinary care. WE DO NOT HAVE A "SHELTER" - just a couple of foster homes which are more than full. We are happy to provide advice (as our limited time permits) if you have found a cat or cats you are willing to keep and would like info on affordable initial vet care. We can also tell you how to sterilize and maintain a feral cat colony if you have a safe environment for them. Now visit us at www.catsnortheast.org.

Adopting a friend

Although you are welcome to contact us for kitten availability, you don't have to adopt a kitten to form a strong attachment; some of the closest bonds are made with grateful adult cats who know what it's like to have it rough, and are so happy just to be loved. Plus, their personalities are more evident than a developing kitten's is, and their activity levels are less disruptive. It makes sense to consider an adult!

Come Visit Us!

We do not have a physical shelter; you must make an appointment to visit the foster home that may have the best feline "match" for your home. For weekend visits, please contact us during the week so that we may accommodate your schedule. We will then call you to discuss your needs and check our foster homes. (Please allow a few days to receive a response.) We do have an adoption process that includes an interview, application, vet references, and nominal adoption fee that covers only part of the cost we incur for altering, vaccinating, blood testing, de-flea-ing, deworming, and whatever else is needed. Because of time limitations and the way our adoption contracts are written, we do LOCAL ADOPTIONS only.
