Who We Are
Von Monte-Haus German Shepherd Rescue is a very small group of friends who are dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of Purebred German Shepherds. We have also began taking in Purebred Bloodhounds and will occasionally take in other breeds if space allows.
Von Monte-Haus German Shepherd Rescue focuses on Purebred German Shepherds and Bloodhounds who are not wanted by their owners due to too much "drive". These dogs are generally very good candidates for Police, Search & Rescue, or other Work and do NOT do well in kennels with workers and volunteers who do not understand them so they come here for evaluations to see if they will actually be good working candidates instead of euthaized because they bark at passerby's or they are too "hyper". WE DO NOT TAKE DOGS WITH AGGRESSION ISSUES, ESPECIALLY IF THE DOG HAS EVER BITTEN OR "NIPPED" A HUMAN OR OTHER DOG!!

Adopting a friend
Our adoption fee is generally $200 but will occasionally ask for a $100 deposit if we could not have the dog Spayed/Neutered prior to adoption (due to sickness, age, etc). We do require that the adopter sign a contract, be over 21, and if adopting a German Shepherd or Bloodhound, must have previous experience with owning that particular breed (proof requried).
