Our featured pet is Jillian. She came from Virginia ready for a new home. Local rescue down there found her and knew she had a better chance of finding a home up here in CT. She had a lump in her leg that was removed and found to be a low grade cancer. The chance of reocurrance is low. She is no more than 8 years old, spayed, up to date on shots and healthy as can be. She loves people and is a real happy girl. All she needs now is a family to call her own. Call to meet her.

Sponsorship
We are now looking for people to sponsor our chronically and terminally ill dogs here in sanctuary. Go to our sanctuary page on our sight sarahandicaps.org to see the dogs that need sponsors.
Sponsoring a dog through us for at least $25.00 will get you a SARAH, Inc t-shirt, a 4 x 6 picture of your dog and for each contribution you send after an initial donation you will get another update on your sponsored pets progress and treatments. Please note your sponsored dog in the memo part of your donation check and thanks from us in advance, without steady contributors we would be shut down.
Pet Super-bowl is again assisting us with food and treat donations. Go down to their store on West Broad Street in Stratford and see what we need most. Even one can of wet food will help us tremendously. Thank you and God bless
Who We Are
A non profit organization thats mission is to assist in the care and placement of handicapped animals with continued holistic care and continually update a resource site with links to info about specific handicaps and illnesses.
We lost the heart of SARAH RESCUE when we had to send our precious Luca to the bridge Friday, September 10th 2004 at 15 1/2 years old. She was the first dog I had ever had that required that I take care of her and she is the one that led me down the road to where we are today. She exhibited a style and grace through her many afflictions that made me in awe of her. Epilepsy, lyme, cancer and in the end blindness did not dampen her spirit and determination to go on. She took a piece of me with her when she went and I have made it my aim to continue to assist in the plight of the senior female beagles that are abandoned in the end of their lives after the breeding and hunting days are over. She blessed me with so much and I am forever indebted to her. God speed my Mama girl, I will be with you again.
Adopting a friend
Our dogs and cats are very special to us, they live with us while they recover from the neglect and abandonment most of them have had before they got here. Some of our special kids will live here the rest of their lives as they are chronically and terminally ill. We may seem very picky about where our animals go but we have their best interest at heart, know their likes and dislikes and know what kind of homes we want them to have. Most of our animals will require an owner to keep them on their holistic/homeopathic treatments for the remainder of their lives and so would need someone willing to learn healthier alternatives to conventional treatments. All of our dogs are now on the BARF diet and the food is available through Omahs Pride out of Avon, CT omaspride.com is their sight and it is very informative. It comes frozen and is complete so all you do is thaw and feed. This will keep our pets living longer and healthier lives. CT residents only please, we need to do home visits and follow ups so we need you close!
