If you fall in love with one of our dogs and want to provide a permanent home, we ask you to fill out an application, and we talk to you to determine if this is a good match, both for you and for the dog. If so, you then fill out an adoption contract. Our dogs are neutered or spayed if they are old enough, and are current on inoculations. When a puppy is adopted, we provide you with a spay/neuter certificate good at a local clinic. It is absolutely essential that the dog is neutered. We conduct follow-up calls to ensure that the dog is fitting into your household and is well-cared for.
The adoption fee for most of our dogs is $95 and for most of our puppies is $125, but that may vary, depending on the individual dog. To submit an adoption application click Here.

"Unite dogs in need with permanent and caring guardians, provide education and community support, and reduce pet overpopulation through spay and neuter programs."
4PAWS Rescue finds new homes for dogs that are losing their current homes for a variety of reasons. We do not have a sanctuary or a shelter, so we encourage those who must find new homes for their dogs to "self-foster" by releasing the animal to 4PAWS Rescue, but keeping it in their home until we place it in a suitable new home. However, we also have a small network of foster homes when self-fostering is not possible. Our goal is to find lifetime, loving homes without subjecting the dog to the stress of being placed in a shelter, which also helps alleviate the burden on already overcrowded shelters. Because we are a small organization with very limited resources, we work with dogs only.
Most of our adoptions are done through adoption fairs that we hold every weekend, usually at pet supply stores in Colorado Springs. For information on when and where we'll be, please check the calendar above or email us at pawsmail@juno.com. Adoptions applications can be submitted online by clicking here .
While most of us live in Colorado Springs or the nearby mountains, we do not place geographic boundaries on our organization. We have helped other organizations, both in and out of state, as well as receiving help when needed. However, we do not ship our animals. You must meet and pick them up in person. This is both for the safety of the animal and so that we can ensure a good match between the dog and the new guardian.
4PAWS Rescue has received its Colorado nonprofit incorporation and federal 501(c)(3) nonprofit classification. We are run completely by volunteers, and we welcome new volunteers.
Thank you for considering a rescued dog for your newest family member! And thank you, Petfinder.com, for giving all of the rescue groups a wonderful opportunity to tell people about our great animals!
