Denver Municipal Animal Shelter

Our Pet List

Our Featured Pet...

Believe it or not, kitten season is in full effect at DMAS. We are swamped with kittens and cats. With the kittens around, the cats do not have a chance at being adopted. Please come meet and adopt one of our sweet cats! The two-year-old female classic beauty with the number 109417 has been at the shelter for 5 weeks, so she really needs to find a home immediately. She is an extremely sweet kitty.

If you are thinking about adding a feline friend to your household, now is the time!!!! Please consider adopting and saving a life!

Who We Are

DMAS is Denver's municipal animal shelter and animal control facility. We have animals of all kinds looking for homes.

Adopting a friend

Please remember that although this site is updated several times a week, the shelter's population changes rapidly and animals pictured on the site may no longer be available for adoption. All animals available for adoption have been temperament tested. Animals available for adoption are marked with a yellow smiley-face sticker. Animals at the shelter not currently available for adoption may become so later. Please come down and see all the sweet friends-to-be for yourself! You need to bring a picture ID. Dogs are $40 at the shelter and an additional $47 for spaying or neutering at Harrison Memorial Animal Hospital. Cats are $20 at the shelter and an additional $29 for spaying or neutering at Harrison Memorial Animal Hospital. Spaying or neutering is required for all dogs and cats in order to decrease our number of homeless pets.
