Our Featured Pet...
Sage
This sweet boy was driven to our rescue all the way from Portland, Oregon by the woman who saved his life. He is an energetic, goofy guy, who is guaranteed to make you laugh with his antics. Sage is a 2-3 year old Husky mix, and is good with most dogs but not cats. He would be a great activity partner for someone active, and also enjoys snuggling. Sometimes he take a little while to warm up to men he doesn't know, but then prepare to be covered in kisses! This good boy needs his very own home!

Who We Are
"Ahimsa" is the Hindu Philosophy of "non-injury".
Ahimsa Ranch Animal Rescue is located just North of Fort Collins on 35 acres. We provide rescue and sanctuary to horses, farm animals, and companion animals. There are usually around 80 living creatures at the rescue at a time. We always have many animals available for adoption to wonderful lifetime homes. We are in the process of our 501(c)(3) filing, and until then are funded entirely out of pocket. We always have a need for volunteers, and donations.
Ahimsa Ranch Animal Rescue also provides horse training services, and specializes in "Bully Breed" rescue as well.
Adopting a friend
All of our adoptable animals can be visited by appointment. Please call to arrange a time to meet your new best friend!
Adoption Fees:
$120 for all dogs.
Includes: spay/neuter, heartworm testing, 24PetWatch microchipping, all vaccines including rabies, rabies tag.
$60 for all cats.
Includes: spay/neuter, FELV/FIV testing, 24PetWatch microchipping, all vaccines inluding rabies.
We do have an application process to help us match potential adopters with suitable dogs. Please e-mail or call for an adoption application to apply for a pet.
Information about dog adoptions:
All of our animals are fostered in a home/ranch environment. This limits the amount of animals we can take in at any given time, but allows each animal to get the attention it deserves. We get to know all of our adoptable pets very well, and put a lot of training into them including socializing, potty training, crate training, leash training, and basic obediance. By getting to know our dogs very well, we are better able to find their perfect match in an adoptive family!

We specialize in the rescue of Bully breeds, and ask that all of our adopters do breed research prior to adoption to make sure that this is the right breed for them. Bully breeds are fantastic pets, and temperament test even higher than Golden Retrievers! Because they get a "bad rap" , it is even more important that each dog is a "breed ambassador". Because of so much bad press (i.e. irresponsible news media) it is important that all of the Bully dogs we adopt out are especially well behaved. We strongly encourage adopters to put the training into their dog so that when out in public, it can be a fantastic breed ambassador, as each dog's actions reflect upon the entire breed.
