The cool of winter is upon us! Please be sure your pets always have fresh water and shelter from both the stormy weather and the cold when they are outside. If storms frighten your pets, please provide a safe place inside for them.
Thank you for helping shelter and rescue animals survive by adopting from rescues and shelters! The pets will appreciate their new lease on life!
Who We Are
NORTHERN COLORADO SHETLAND SHEEPDOG RESCUE (soon to become NorCO Sheltie Rescue) has relocated to Kersey, CO, about 20 miles east of Greeley. We take shelties (and sometimes other dogs and cats) needing new homes, vet them, love them, and find them that forever home where they will be loved and cherished as a family member. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations, HW checked, and ready to be part of a special home. We foster all of our dogs in our homes where they are treated as family members during their stay here. In this way, we become very familiar with our pets and their personalities! We do not have a shelter per se where you can come visit them.
We are currently looking for foster homes in the Greeley/Fort Morgan/Brush areas. If you are home most of the time and would like to have a friend with you, please contact us! We provide the vet care, you provide the food, TLC, a warm and safe place to live in your home. You reap the rewards of having a buddy with you and helping a pet who needs a home!
To adopt or foster, we require an application to be filled out, including personal and vet references that will be checked, and a personal home visit prior to adoption. We also require a fenced yard, with very few exceptions. We are very careful to match the dog and the family! We place our dogs only within a 100-mile radius of Greeley or Fort Morgan, CO. You must be willing and able to travel to Greeley to pick up your new pet.
We gladly and gratefully accept donations to help defray the cost of vetting and fostering our rescue dogs. If you would like to contribute to our rescue effort, please consider donating to us through our PayPal account! We also take donations of food, dog bedding, cat litter, etc. Please email us if you have something to donate!
