Who We Are

The Calaveras Humane Society is a group of volunteers dedicated to ensuring a humane environment for the Calaveras County homeless pet population . Our projects include Low Income Spay/Neuter Assistance, Adopt-A-Pet events, Dog and Cat Rescue Teams, and Animal Services assistance. Adopting a Friend

All unaltered animals (of alterable age) must be spayed or neutered before going to their new homes. All pets are made current on shots. Dogs are heartworm tested and put on preventative.

Volunteering and Donations

We need your help!

VOLUNTEERS needed for: Foster care of pets - by fostering, you provide a safe haven for the pet until a permanent home can be found. This is a vital component of rescue. Help at Adapt-A-Pet events - assist with Fundraising. Volunteering at the San Andreas Animal Services facility. You can walk dogs or cuddle cats and clean their cages.

DONATIONS WANTED: Help us financially by becoming a member. We are in need of pet supplies like modular kennels, crates for transporting cats and dogs, Frontline, Advantage, Heartgard.....we constantly battle fleas and ticks. Exercise pens for puppies and kittens. Large show cages for cats/kittens. Scratching posts or cat condos. Toys for puppies and dogs AND for cats are consumed, lost, damaged and are always needed. Especially Kongs. Dog treats, but not rawhides...all types of biscuits.
