Santa Barbara County Animal Shelter
Pets of the Month
Meet Harry
Harry and Larry are 9 month old Chihuahua/Terrier mixes. As you can tell from their pictures, they are happy, exhuberant, silly pups. They love to run around the play yard chasing and playing with toys. You will need a lot of energy to keep up with these guys. Harry's ID# is 284847 and Larry's ID# is 284848.

News
Open up your heart and your home to one of the many homeless and abandoned animals. The shelter is currently at capacity with many cats, dogs, and bunnies available for adoption. We are calling on the community to come visit, adopt, and support these wonderful animals. There are many dogs and cats not pictured as many come in daily. Our volunteers try to keep up with the pictures and descriptions, but it is a monumental task. Please come to the shelter to meet your new best friend!
Regular shelter adoption hours are Monday through Friday 10am to 4:30pm and Saturday 10am to 3:30pm. Volunteers are at Petsmart most Sundays from 11am to 2:30pm with adoptable dogs.
Bunnies
The shelter currently has quite a few bunnies patiently waiting for a new home. These cute and furry creatures make great pets. If you would like to volunteer to help care for and socialize our bunnies, please contact Stacy Crump at (805) 934-6981 at The Santa Maria Animal Center.
WE HAVE KITTENS!!
Cute, cuddly, curious cats and kittens await you at Santa Barbara County Animal Services. Healthy, happy, hand-raised kittens have returned from foster care and are ready for their permanent home. Special limited time offer $55 for the first cat or kitten, each additional cat or kitten $28. (This covers the cost of spaying or neutering your new friend)
FOSTER HOMES NEEDED!
Unfortunately this kitten season has started off with a bang and litter upon litter of kittens are coming into the shelter. If you are interested in fostering kittens, call Stacy Crump at (805) 934-6981. Share the joy and make a real difference in the lives of our homeless kittens; become a foster parent.
Who We Are
We care for stray and homeless animals, including cats, kittens, dogs, puppies, rabbits and other animals such as chickens, guinea pigs or iguanas. We always hope the family will come to reclaim their lost pet, but is not, we work to find a loving new family for them.
We ensure that dogs are current on their rabies vaccination and license.
At Animal Services, our goal is to ensure that all the animals in our County have a safe place to live. We work hard to find loving homes for the many dogs, cats, rabbits and other animals that come into our care. Together, with community partners and concerned citizens, we are making sure that all these animals have a "Forever Home!"
Adopting a Friend
Potential adopters must fill out an application and be screened by a staff member or volunteer to ensure that the animal you have selected will be a good match in your household. Please contact the office staff at the shelter to begin the adoption process.
