Who We Are

The East Bay SPCA has been concerned with animal welfare for over 125 years. We have been providing shelter, health care, and adoption services for unwanted animals since 1874. We are committed to finding homes for adoptable cats and dogs, providing affordable veterinary and spay/neuter services, and educating the public on responsible pet ownership.

The East Bay SPCA is a non-profit organization with with an adoption center in Oakland and in Dublin - the Tri-Valley SPCA.

Adopting a friend

We want to help you find the pet that you have been searching for! To adopt a dog or cat, come to either shelter prepared to fall in love. Be ready to spend some good quality time with our guests, bring your whole family and any existing dogs, be able to have pets in your home, and take one home today. All of our animals are spayed or neutered before they are available for adoption and have age appropriate shots. Cats are tested for feline leukemia and dogs receive basic obedience training.

Adoption Process

All animals available for adoption at the East Bay SPCA are spayed or neutered and have received initial vaccinations or boosters and are microchipped. All dogs go home signed up for a Puppy Kindergarten or Obedience Training class. Adoption fees at the East Bay SPCA include all of the above services. The fees are...

Kittens $100	Silver Whisker Cats (over 8) $75

Puppies $225	Silver Muzzle Dogs (over 8) $150
Dogs $225	Club Second Chance Dogs (special needs) $150

In order to adopt an animal companion from the East Bay SPCA, every member of the household needs to come in and spend time with the animal. This helps us to verify that each household member will welcome the adoption. When adopting a dog or puppy, any current companion dogs in the household need to come in and spend time socializing with the new animal---we want to ensure that everyone gets along! Volunteering

Come volunteer at the East Bay SPCA! There are many different ways to volunteer. Available positions include: Dog Walker - Dog Groomer - Feline Socializer - Special Events Volunteer - Feline Socializer - Puppy Socializer - Mobile Adoption Associate

To become a volunteer at the East Bay SPCA, attend a volunteer orientation. These are held each month at one of our locations, the Oakland SPCA or the Tri-Valley SPCA. For more information about volunteering, visit our website at www.eastbayspca.org/volunteer
