B.A.A.R.K.
We Have Many, Many Beautiful Cockers....
They come in all colors, personalities, ages and hair length! If we don't have what you want now, please keep checking back: we will most definitely get the dog you are looking for very soon...
We Need Your Help........
Right now, we are very strapped for funds. Several of our fosters have needed very expensive surgeries and this has left us without funds. We would very much like to be able to continue our rescue efforts and need your help in order to be able to do so. If you would like to help us, you can send a donation to our rescue account by clicking on our PAY PAL link. All the cockers thank you!
Would You Like to Foster?
FOSTER HOMES NEEDED. We only have 4 foster homes that are able to assist us with rescuing cockers from shelters. We continuously have cockers in shelters that must be placed in homes or they will be euthanized. Please call and help today! You will not incur ANY costs when fostering. We provide for all the vet costs, medications (when needed), dog food, etc. All we need is a place where we can comfortably home and socialize these babies while we find them homes. If you cannot foster, please consider donating whatever you can so we can rescue these dogs and place them in boarding until we can find permanent homes for them. Crates, dog food, pet dishes, leashes, dog toys, etc. are also welcome.
Who We Are
B.A.A.R.K. (Bay Area Animal Rescue Klub) is a non-profit organization that specializes in the rescue of Cocker Spaniels. B.A.A.R.K. was founded in Hercules, CA and has additional foster homes in the Oakland, Santa Rosa, San Francisco, and central Contra Costa County areas. We are a small group of local volunteers who work to place abandoned and rescued Cocker Spaniels in new homes. The dogs are groomed and bathed. Then they are vaccinated, neutered or spayed, heartworm tested and assessed for temperament. When necessary, which is often the case, they also have their teeth cleaned and their ears flushed. They usually require medical treatment before being placed for adoption. If there is a place in your heart and home for one of these deserving cockers, please e-mail info@baark.org. Our adoption fee is $350.00 for a purebred Cocker Spaniel 1 year or younger, $300.00 for a purebred Cocker Spaniel 2 to 5 years and $250.00 for a purebred Cocker Spaniel 6 years or older. We have rescued many Cocker Spaniels in this area and there are many more cockers in the local shelters that need our help. We do not have room for all of them...Please help us save these beautiful dogs.
Adopting a friend
In order to adopt one of our dogs, the potential adopter to fill out will need to fill out an application. That application is then evaluated by the members of our group. If necessary, we will call and check vet references and do home checks before making a decision on an application. Normally, this process will take more than one day. We do not adopt animals that will be "gifts." In order to be considered as an adopter, one must: Be an adult with responsibility for maintaining a household (no students). Have a fenced yard. ** Those living in apartments MUST have permission from landlord. Have current identification showing address and/or phone number. Have the knowledge and consent of all adults living in household. Be able and willing to spend the time and money necessary to provide for the training, medical treatment and proper care for the pet. Have the resources to make a non-refundable donation**. Agree to provide the pet with an indoor home with fenced yard and be willing to consider it a member of the family. Understand that all B.A.A.R.K. pets are neutered/spayed. Place personal ID on the animal as soon as possible. Provide an environment for the animal that will keep it safe and secure. **DONATIONS: The MINIMUM donation on all dogs is $350.00 for dogs 1 year or younger, $300.00 for dogs 5 years or younger and $250.00 for dogs 6 years and older. Donation fees may vary depending on the costs we incurred with a particular dog (including vetting costs, special care costs, etc.). This year, B.A.A.R.K. has spent an average of $500.00 on each animal in our care. That included medical, grooming, food and supplies. Your donation is not to pay for the medical care on the cocker that you are adopting; but rather it allows us to continue our rescue and adoption efforts. The donation is refundable should you need to return the dog within two weeks of adoption. After that period, the donation is NON-REFUNDABLE. Understand that B.A.A.R.K. has the right to either deny or approve your adoption application without explanation. PUPPY POLICY: We do not adopt infant puppies (less than 11 months) to homes with children less than 7 years old, apartment dwellers or to homes where no one is home during the day. All puppies are spayed/ neutered .
