Monique was a curious pup, and was found by some good Samaritans after being abandoned. She was adopted to her forever home shortly after entering our program. Soon after being at her forever home, her adopters noticed she was listless and vomiting. The vet discovered she had chewed up a BBQ bristle brush, and one of the bristles perforated her intestine. Emergency surgery was performed to save her life. The adopter was able to pay some of the costs, but because this was a pre-existing condition East of Eden covered most of the expenses. The balance of these charges are still unpaid. We have AMAZING volunteers that assist with the programs needs but we all could use more help.

We are in the middle of Fundraising and need your HELP! Although we have the above widget and the below widget theres other ways of donating. How about ur old electronics? Do you have an old digital camera, ipod, laptop, or ink jet catridge? You can send it to us and we can recylce it to ecophones. They send us a certain amount of money per recycled item YAY for us! Every event we go to we take strives and care to do the best for our kitties and dogs. They have food, water, beds, litter boxes for the kitties, and crates for show. But time and again we get big cats that need a little more extra room, or we have a mom and kittens or a litter of kittens that we want to put in one crate and it gets a little tight so we are wanted to buy a very large 3 tier crate to take with us to events. It costs $150 which is a lot of money so please help us out and donate for our crate fund. It will be great for you (more kitties to see at events ) and great for us ( more room for more cats at events and more cats to go at events).
ANNOUNCING MANTECA'S "PAWS FOR RECYLING" PROGRAM--Bring your empty aluminum cans to the Manteca Shelter, 208 E. Wetmore St., Manteca CA 95337. Funds collected from recycling these cans will be put toward free/low cost spay/neuter for Manteca shelter dogs.
SHELTER SCOUTS NEEDED--Can you spare a couple hours per week? One of the other services we provide is reporting on available dogs in shelters in San Joaquin County. We distribute these to rescue groups throughout Northern California, and this has made a BIG difference in reducing euthanasia rates here. We need people to visit the shelters on a weekly basis, get information on the dogs in the shelter at that time, and take pictures if you have a digital camera. Right now, we need coverage for: Escalon, Lodi, and Stockton. You can set your own hours. Contact EOE for more details.
OBEDIENCE STUDY GROUP NOW FORMING!! Want to practice what you are learning in obedience class? Here is a simple, low-stress way to work on socialization and reinforcement. We will meet for short periods one or two times a week, at various locations. Contact us for further details.
We are a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit corporation, but we remain a tiny but mighty rescue located in Central CA. We are dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and re homing of homeless canines. At present, our foster program focuses on Labs and Lab mixes, but we try to provide assistance to every dog in need. We have developed a wide network of support throughout Northern California, and have been extremely successful to date. We welcome creative solutions to the problem of canine homelessness.
The process of rescue, we have found, enriches everyone involved. It is truly a "win-win" situation.
And, to repeat once more,
WE KNOW WHAT WORKS. NOW, WE JUST NEED TO DO MORE OF THE SAME.
First and foremost, we need your time and attention. We need more foster homes. There are many nice dogs out there that we can't get to because there is no space available. Also, donations, especially choke collars, are always welcome.
Adopting a friend
To adopt from EOE, you will need to fill out our adoption application, agreement, contract and go through a home check visit. Suggested minimum donation is $90 for cats/kittens, $190 for general dogs, $260 for toy breed dogs ($100 refundable upon completion of an obedience course)(a home check is REQUIRED prior to Dog adoptions), but any additional you can/would like to donate will be GREATLY appreciated.
