Animals through FoFAS are available to residents of California only.
FoFAS works with the Fairmont Shelter to get as many animals out and into safe havens as possible and strives to make their lives as comfortable as possible while they are in the shelter.
FoFAS has dogs and cats in private foster homes, and we have cats in our volunteer office next to the shelter. Our volunteers also help to socialize, walk, feed, and comfort the animals while in the shelter. Veterinary care and transport is provided by volunteers on an as needed basis. (Our veterinary/medical expenses run from three to five thousand dollars a month.)
Our only source of income is public donations and funds raised through events (yard sales, bake sales, special events) and annual membership dues. FoFAS money is spent on animals in and from the shelter as well as improvements for the shelter itself. FoFAS also offers several forms of Spay/Neuter assistance to residents within our jurisdiction.
