Bella

Bella is an Affectionate middle aged pure bred American Bull Dog that thinks she is human. The poor girl had so much anxiety when she was abandoned at the pound that she suffer a very mild stroke (may also have ingested poison). This causes her to carry her head a bit tilted to one side which really adds to her cute character making her that much more special. This is especially true since she also has a slight under bite (which is rare for this breed)...... It is hard to describe the warmth she generates when she rests her little head on your lap and with the tilted head and funny jaw, looks at you as if saying... "hey massage my head/neck or come down here so I can give you a few licks..." Other than that she is very very healthy and strong. Bella really enjoys her long walks around the neighborhood with Stella, her sister . Presently Bella lives with Stella at an orphanage (Foster Home) along with other doggies in the Redondo Beach area. She is very outgoing when it comes to people and loves to engage them so she can get some pats on the head. She will come up to anybody for some love as her caregiver told us was his observation while observing her in action at the local dog park.. When it comes to dogs, she is a bit picky though as to who she decides will be her friend. With this said, she may or may not make a good companion doggie -- we would just have to see if the chemestry is there (somtimes doggies are like people in this respect). Bella is paper trained which means that she knows to go to the bathroom on newspaper in a special area of the house. She makes the perfect indoor dog since she isn't overly active while indoors and enjoys simply hanging out. She enjoys car rides and soft music and fresh meat bones. She is rather quiet while in a home environment but tends to bark a bit when shown at adoptions because of the cage and all the activity.

We are a 501c-3 dog rescue foundation dedicated to rescuing dogs, the day they are to be euthanized, from various Los Angeles shelters and placing them in loving homes. We do NOT take dogs in ... we only rescue from shelters. The Ace of Hearts Foundation is in memory of "Ace" a wonderful American Bull dog who was rescued, from death, and touched the lives of many! (Especially founder Kari Whitman!) We rescue all breeds...and don't discriminate against any!
