With the exception of animal adoptions, Antioch Animal Shelter serves only the residents of Antioch.

Who We Are
Antioch Animal Services is the only City-run shelter in Contra Costa County. Antioch Animal Services provides the community with law enforcement regarding animals as well as adoptions 6 days a week.
Adopting a friend
Come adopt a new best friend from the Antioch Animal Shelter! Our adoption hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 3:30 pm, with extended hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays until 6:30 pm. If you have children or other pets in the home, we do require you bring them with you, so we can ensure everyone in the family gets along. Adoption prices vary according to the animal you select. All dogs and cats must be spayed or neutered by an Antioch vet before they go home.
Drop in and get acquainted with our wonderful animals- you are sure to fall in love.
Some of our animals may also be seen at our mobile adoption location on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month between the hours of 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Please come visit us at the new PetSmart, located at 5879 LoneTree Way in Antioch at Slatten Ranch (next to Office Depot).

Antioch is off of Highway 4 in Northern California.
Coming Eastbound, take the L Street Exit. Turn left at the stop sign. Follow L Street to 2nd. Take a left. The Shelter is the big brick building on the corner of 2nd and L.
Coming Westbound on 4, take the Somersville Rd Exit. Take a left off the ramp. Stay on Somersville Rd. which turns into West 4th Street. Stay on West 4th until it crosses L Street. The shelter is on your left. It is the brick building (adjoining the police services building).
