Caring for all helpless, homeless pets
2006 News
All companion pets, equine and Barnyard buddies are received as space and volunteers permit. We receive stray and owner surrender pets from local/county animal control/law enforcement agencies, neighbors, business referrals, local safe house/crisis centers as space permits. We are a no-kill facility and receive animals first come-first serve. We depend on adoptions to free up a space for another homeless, helpless pet. We need temporary foster homes to allow us to save additional lives.
Campbell Center rescue shelter and sancturary is unique in that we have 13 acres of land to develop for the animals with exercise areas and trails for people and critters in care.
The average census for equine and/or barnyard buddies is 15-18 animals. Our canine and feline census can run anywhere from 20 - 35 at any given time. They are provided for 24-7 by on-site management . Most pets easily socialize and mingle with permanent and family pets. Direct animal care costs average $1,500. per month. Additional costs include routine vaccinations, spay/neuter, worming, veterinary care and winter supplements and higher costs of supplies, hay, feed etc.
We currently receive no assistance from local or state government and depend solely on private donations, fund raising events and available grants.

Who We Are and our location
Silver Creek Regional Humane Society was organized and incorporated in Snowflake, Arizona in 2001. We serve northern Navajo County, western Apache County and, on request, nearby Native American reservations. We are in the Northeastern "4 corners region" of Arizona. We are approximately a one hour drive West of Gallup N. M. Our goal was to receive a donation of land to establish a rescue shelter. Campbell Center, 4 miles W. of St. Johns, Az. off Rt. 61 at Cedar Road was given to our society in June, 2004, by the Dave Campbell family.
We provide vaccination/microchip/adoption clinics in different locations between Navajo and Apache counties. Toe nail trims and free humane society ID tags are also available at all clinics.
We are a member of Very Best Pet Network, sponsored by Purina and the American Humane Association and partner with Wal*Mart SuperCenter, Show Low, AZ. We recently received a special recognition award of $1,000.00 for our adoption and promotionefforts in 2005. In addition, WalMart and Purina provide us with animal products for our shelter animals.
We recently opened Executive and Volunteer offices in Springerville, Az. The building also houses our newest venture, "Waggin Tails" Bargain store. We are hoping this unique antique, craft items and materials, new and nearly new store will bring the funds to remodel existing structures for the start of our indoor shelter building project at Campbell Center and, along with other potential funding, will establish a spay-neuter clinic at the "Waggin Tails" facility.
