Occasionally, we'll also have other purebreeds listed on our shelter page. Adoption requirements will be the same as for a keeshond: i.e. application, home visit, adoption contract, adoption donation of $250.00. These dogs, when they're available, will also be neutered/spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped.
Since we don't know what Keeshonden may become available for adoption, age and gender is not predictable.
Arizona Keeshond Rescue receives keeshonds from a variety of sources: owner releases, regional animal controls, other humane societies & rescue groups and also abused or abandoned keeshonds. Keeshonds in our program are all housed in approved foster homes, are spayed or neutered, current on yearly vaccinations, and microchipped prior to being adopted to their new forever families. We temperament test each dog to determine it’s reaction to other dogs, children and cats. Keeshonds coming into rescue have often been in/out of several homes and situations and are in need of stability, a lot of love, good basic nutrition and sometimes follow-up vet work. Our main adoption goal is to place available keeshonds with prospective families providing them with long-term love and care in a home environment. Special emphasis is placed on the individual personalities of each dog and the lifestyle of the family looking to adopt. For example, we try to place keeshonds that are cat friendly in homes with resident felines or dogs that are used to having canine company back into homes with existing dogs.
. We reserve the right to refuse any adoption. We do not ship our dogs. We only adopt within the state of Arizona. If you live elsewhere, we'd be glad to refer you to a keeshond rescue in your area.
