Pets of the Month

Our cats of the month introduce themselves...
MAC and RONI!

Mac and Roni are one of a kind. They are 2yr old orange tabby, orange tabby and white, short haired neutered brothers. They were born to a feral mom in Florida and rescued. As they grew and started to open their eyes there were problems. The vet said they were born without eyelids. When they got old enough they were neutered and examined by a specialist. Mac had to have one eye removed due to ulcerations from the lashes and Roni had reconstructive surgery on both eyes. Do you think that would stop them? Not one bit! They are not blind, and once they figure out where the furniture and walls are in their environment, they are good to go. And go they do! (just don’t move the furniture! jk) By choice Roni would prefer to sit on your lap with you while you both watched Mac put on the spaz cat show! Except for some extra tearing, which would mean one would take some over the counter saline solution on a cotton ball and wipe their eye in the mornings, these two are healthy as horses, and nothing stops them! (they got a clean bill of health before leaving Florida.) Mac & Roni are both very lovable and playful and will expect to sleep with you. Their foster moms says “These are the most loving sweet boys around. With 20 other cats, working full time and taking care of mother I cant give them the love and attention that they deserve and crave.” If YOU are that special family, Adopt Mac & Roni FOR LIFE! These two will be adopted together, obviously!
The adoption fee of $75 each includes shots for life

FACT: Due to cars, sick and cruel people, poisonings, being trapped in neighborhoods and sold to research or used for snake food, diseased when attacked by stray dogs and cats, eaten by hungry coyotes and owls and more...
THE AVERAGE LIFESPAN OF AN INSIDE/OUTSIDE CAT IS 18 MONTHS
THE AVERAGE LIFESPAN OF AN INSIDE CAT IS 18 YEARS
FYI when you let your pet cat “out back” to sit with you and roll in the dirt they will contract body bugs and parasites then they are brought into your house and onto your bed. YUK!! DON'T LET THE CAT OUT!

Come meet all of our homeless kitties at the CNPS Adoption Center in PETsMART at Metrocenter - 31st Ave, South of Peoria.

WHO WE ARE...

Citizens For North Phoenix Strays is a non-profit, 100% volunteer, no kill rescue organization that has been "Helping People Help Animals"tm since 1993. We provide help through low cost spay/neuter referral, humane trapping and altering of feral and stray cats through our SPAY-A-STRAY program, and by giving animals a second chance through adoption. CNPS aids mainly cats. These animals have been given up by their owners, or are abandoned, or are part of an unwanted litter because an irresponsible owner did not spay or neuter their pet.

"The animal rescue world is not a perfect world, but we leave it better than the way we found it"tm, "Make a difference, Spay and Neuter"tm

CNPS is not a shelter. We have no shelter facilities and can not take in your animals.
We are a network of people like you who have decided to help a homeless animal. All of the animals that are available for adoption are kept by their owners or the kind person who found them until they are adopted. In order for us to help you help an animal, we simply ask that you make a commitment and provide them with shelter, food, water and love until they are adopted. We can assure you that by working together and utilizing our resources we will find a good, permanent home for that animal you are choosing to help.

We are always looking for doers, people that can and want to help one day/night a week to feed, clean up after and love the kitties.

ADOPTING A FRIEND...

The CNPS Adoption Center is located in PETsMART Metrocenter at 31st Ave, South of Peoria.
We have needy kitties looking for YOU seven days a week! b>

The adoption fee for cats is $75.00, kittens under 6 months are $100.00. All adoption fees include spaying or neutering and inside shots (4-in-1) for life. All of our animals come with a 14 day health and compatability guarantee.

When you adopt your new companion, we want you to commit to your new pet "FOR LIFE". But if for any reason you are unable to keep your pet, it MUST be returned to CNPS. We do not want them taken to the kill shelters ie. Humane Society or the pound. (An agreement is signed at the time of adoption stating this and other responsibilities of both the adoptive family and CNPS.)

OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOU...

SPAY-A-STRAY PROGRAM - CNPS is one of the very few rescue groups that focus on feral cats in our community. This program we have put together enables us to provide assistance with the trapping and altering of feral and un-owned stray cats. We have all seen them - these cats are living in business areas, empty lots behind restaurants, at airports and schools... maybe in your neighborhood. An active program of spay/neuter and release brings a feral colony under control (0% population increase), keeps new cats from coming into the area, greatly reduces fighting and spraying behavior, improves the overall health of the cats and DIRECTLY REDUCES THE NUMBER OF ANIMALS BEING EUTHANIZED AT THE COUNTY SHELTERS! Documentation has shown that total removal and euthanization of these cats has proven to be completely ineffective and more costly than a spay/neuter/release program. Many communities throughout the country have put into place a trap/alter/release program and found it to be the only EFFECTIVE way to control the feral cat population. Please get involved in this worthwhile program. The cost to neuter a male cat is typically $30.00 and the cost to spay a female cat is $45.00 to $75.00. Please, help us make a difference with a donation earmarked for the SPAY-A-STRAY PROGRAM! (More information about trap/alter/release programs can be found at the Alley Cat Allies website at www.alleycat.org)

VOLUNTEERING and DONATIONS...

VOLUNTEERS MAKE THE DIFFERENCE! We need your help!! Areas of need include help at the adoption center, cage cleaning and care during the week for the kitties staying at the store. Volunteers must be 18 years old or older. Donations of time, money and any type of animal care products, including (but not limited to) food (mostly cat and kitten food), litter, pet carriers and cages, towels and blankets, bowls, leashes, toys, etc, are always very much appreciated. If we all work together, we can help save more animals.
