Adopting a friend

Please understand that it is the obligation of the Marion Animal Control Staff to place our animals in optimum homes. Many of our animals have been injured and/or abused. We must insure that they are not placed into traumatic situations again. Adoption fees vary depending on vet needs and sponsorship funds available; please contact us for specific information. To adopt one of our dogs, please complete our adoption application and contact Joan Welch - 870-739-1145 to arrange a time to meet the dog of choice.

Help Needed

Our shelter is full! We are in desperate need to place these animals in permanent homes or foster homes; otherwise, we will be faced with euthanizing some of them.. If the animal has "URGENT" listed beside his/her name, they are in danger of being euthanized at any time. Please contact the shelter to have us save these animals.

Foster Homes Needed - Our shelter is in need of foster homes. If you can volunteer to foster any of our animals, please complete our foster application and contact Joan Welch, 870-739-1145

Foster Opportunities - Some of our dogs go to approved rescues. These dogs need to be cared for out of the shelter environment for 2 - 3 weeks before transport.Additionally, some of our dogs have special medical needs, such as Heartworms. Others come to us injured. In order for us to treat these special needs pups, we need a safe, warm place to house them so that they may regain their health before going to an adoptive home or rescue. This is a wonderful way to help a dog in need without making a long-term commitment.

Rescues

Our shelter is rescue-friendly. If you work with a rescue and are interested in helping some of our dogs, please contact our Adoption/Rescue Coordinator, Joan Welch @ 870-739-1145.

Sponsorship

If you are unable to adopt or foster one of our dogs, please consider our sponsorship program. By sponsoring a dog financially, you help to offset the vetting/adoption fees, which will make the dog eligible to go to an approved rescue. Dogs who are looking for sponsors will have a "Sponsor Me!" button on their petfinder profiles. When sponsoring a dog, be sure to include the name of the dog in your correspondence.
