On occasion we will post dogs that are in foster care . These will always be marked URGENT as foster homes are very few and in order to rescue other animals we must move these as soon as possible.. Contact for these dogs is the same though.
Who We Are
FHC is is a non profit orgainzation. We operate as a private shelter so we are not governed by local laws. We do not euthanize dogs just to make room for new residence. The shelter is located on city property. Recently we were asked to move our residence from city property. Since we have no place to move these poor dogs we are making a plea to the public to help us place in good homes as many of these dogs as possible by June 1, 2008. YOUR HELP WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
UPDATE: Our time on city property has been extended until August 2008. If you are considering a new addition to your family please give one of these furbabies a chance. You won't be sorry.
Special note, most of our dogs have not been around cats. Therefore, their behavior with cats is unknown.
Adopting a friend
Once an individual shows interest in meeting the residents we set up an appointment. The adoption process is simple. We adopt to fenced yards only. We require vet references (so have a name and phone number ready when you call). We also require copies of both social security card and drivers license prior to adoption. If the dog picks you at the same time you pick him or her then we work out the details. Adoptions fees may vary according to vet costs. All animals are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. We only hold dogs if there is a 50% deposit.
