We are a group of volunteers that liberate Shetland Sheepdogs from shelters and owner turn-ins and rehabilitate them. We spay or neuter if necessary, we bring the dogs up to date on all their shots, and we make sure they are as healthy as veterinary medicine can make them. We place them into a foster home so they aren’t subjected to a kennel environment then find loving, forever homes for these second chance furkids. Our goal is to find a home that truly wants to have the dog for every sheltie that needs one. We are just getting started and have yet to really make our mark in the sheltie world, but look out for us in the future. The Greater Birmingham Humane Society knows about us and works with us. Our taking the shelties leaves more room for the dogs that don’t have a rescue to depend on. We currently do have some dogs in rescue, but be aware; you must pass an investigation of your home and your past experience with animals. We do check and you must fill out an adoption application. We want only the best for our babies. We require a fenced yard unless apartment dweller. Then we must be assured the dog will be walked on a leash daily. The adoption fee is $150. for which the dog will be UTD on all shots, free of htw on heartworm preventative, and as healthy as we can make them. They will be neutered or spayed before they leave us.
